- All of my equipment is designed for U. S. voltage. It's been running
- for the last 3 years on 120 volts/50 Hz transformed from 240 volts/
- 50 Hz.
-
- The only problem was when I bought a Fargo Primera printer. It came
- with the U. S. power tranformer expecting 120 volts/60 hz input to
- convert to a 16.5 VAC for the printer. I fried two of them from my
- 120 volt outlets before I realized they didn't like 50 Hz. Fargo was
- understanding enough to not only replace the first power transformer
- but finally a European one without charging (no pun) me.
-
- The lesson: Most equipment will run on transformed voltage, but
- there is a small set that is AC frequency sensitive.
